In this article, we describe a theoretical/practical work focused on attending gender and sexual diversity in education, and present it as an educational innovation to be carried out in classrooms. To do this, we made a brief analysis of the current situation in education regarding sexual diversity. Subsequently, we propose the defense of the functions of artistic education for the development of social values, which are very useful for diversity education. Based on different practices carried out with the help of students from the School of Art and Higher Education Design Fernando Estévez, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. These practices were focused with the goal of working on sexual diversity and the deconstruction of prevailing stereotypes in visual culture. Finally, we try to demonstrate how easy and effective the application of any problem of this nature is to the artistic curriculum and its effective results. Once the practice concluded, we have identified this theme as a real problem and positively value the efficiency of arts education, highlighting its tools as adequate paths of action for developing values and attitudes.
