Action-research as a means of fostering innovation in experimental sciences

An action research was carried out in secondary education to promote the experimental work in science teaching. The aims of this action research project were: (1) to promote the teamwork among teachers from the Sciences Department, (2) to encourage innovation in the classroom, (3) to signifi cantly increase the time devoted to laboratory work, (4) to promote training of science teachers through investigation, (5) to increase the number of practical classes for students and (6) to teach the students the scientifi c method using a practical methodology.
